Miss Screenpunk and i went for a night out to Antwerp and the next morning we went to Hoboken to do some sightseeing. Hoboken has the reputation of being an ethnic neighbourhood .. an exciting mix of cultures .. hussle bussle .. little beware maybe when you walk the streets .. sounds like an excellent photo opportunity.
When we arrived in Hoboken the mistake got obvious pretty quick .. never seen a town as boring as Hoboken .. the place seems uninhabited .. empty space .. void social life .. maybe we jumped off at the wrong stop .. maybe we were there at the wrong day .. maybe we landed in the wrong universe

According to Wikipedia the name Hoboken is derived from Middle Dutch Hooghe Buechen or Hoge Beuken (="High Beeches" or "Tall Beeches") .. so I think that in the picture above the green blobs to the left must be the historical Tall Beeches where the name comes from .. yes what else can you say here.

In Hoboken you find big flatblocks with barcodes on the side. I think the barcodes is an artists idea of a joke .. it really does illuminate the atmosphere .. ahum
The street where the blocks are located is called Ghandilaan .. yes they named it after Ghandi .. a really good spot to commemorate the late and great pacifist .. ahum.

In Hoken there are very exciting garagedoors.

In Hoboken there is very exciting pavement.

In Hoboken there is very interesting passages.

In Hoboken there's a car called De kindervriend. It is the the car of a transport organisation for children and i think they should really consider a restyling because the car does not look like the car of a kindervriend.
The guys in the picture below were hitting each other over the head when we approached. When they spotted us, they stopped doing that and gave us some fake smiles. It didnt look like they were in need of a Kindervriend at all.

The Yildiz Market was the most vibrating place we visited in Hoboken. A very gentle man helped us out with food and drinks. The man makes up a perfect argument to get Turkey in the Europian Community as soon as possible, but despite that he couldnt make up for boring impressions that Hoboken gave off that sunday morning ..
We moved on and the only interesting that remains of the place is the ring of the name ..
Hoboken
And of course few photo's.
